FREE LEGAL AID FOR WOMEN FROM INDIAN GOVERNMENT
Women can get free Legal Aid from the government. No money is to be paid for lawyer fee, typing charges, xerox, court fee or any other fee or expenses. All such charges are to be borne by the government against the bills submitted by the lawyer to the Legal Aid Cell. This free legal aid in any court of India from the government is given to every women applicant regardless of her income. Even high salaried women can avail this free legal aid.
Very few women know about it and lawyers don’t tell this to their women clients for their vested interest. To avail this free service, the women should approach the Legal Aid Cell in the court and fill a simple form with xerox of adhar card. It is simple and easy.
Such help is financed by Indian government under the regulation 16 of District Legal Services Authority Regulations, 1998 and Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
